Green River Lake 4-13-14
Fished with guide David Jones and my son on Sunday. The wind was blowing so hard we could not get on the main lake. Holmes Bend looked like chocolate milk. We fished Green River between the bridge and Snake Creek. Water temp at the end of the day was 64. Water was clearing with color near Snake Creek. They were pulling the lake hard, too.
We caught a lot of short fish (120 or so) and put 62 in live well. Five or more were over a pound.
Fishing was tough and David worked hard to find fish. I've read and watched a many video about crappie fishing, but spending 8 hours with David was the most informative thing I've ever done. He taught me so much and was terrific to learn from.

TG ... I noticed they were pulling the lake hard on Sunday, too. Fished just left of Holmes Bend, where the wind was only blowing about 20mph  and my cork would travel down the bank faster than the wind was blowing my boat :Rofl
A lot of the water between HB & the bridge was clearing up some on Fri/Sat ... it was more of a green/brown around the bridge area, than the brown/brown around the marina area ... but, the winds were sweeping mud lines back out into the main lake shallow flats on Sunday, so it's gonna take a day or two to settle out. Best water temps I ran into were 62.3deg ... and that's gonna drop some with this cold spell. Next week should be the start of some serious spawning runs.
CUSA may have accidently scheduled their tourney at Green, at the peak of the spawn. :Rofl
Glad you got to spend a day with David !! He's good people, and knows his stuff :ThumbsUp
