I went Sunday afternoon and couldn't believe how large and vast the mats of floating debris were. A large mat settled at the state ramp making it very difficult to load the boat. The bite was finicky too, I had 14 keepers. Sine were pretty solid fish busting with eggs. Water temps were 60-61 degrees.
Thanks a million badbrad I think I will give it a try tomorrow. IF I have any luck I let you know.
Walked the bank this afternoon after work at peters creek and badbrad is right. It looked like at times that you could walk across it on the mats of debris floating near the main lake. Color was stained but not terrible, just hard to make a cast without hanging into something floating on top. Bite was a little slow today too but I did manage to get a dozen nice ones.
Thanks again Badbrad and Fantail for the information you gave on Barren. I had a sinus problem this morning, so I got a late start. After what you guys had to say about Peter creek area I decided to check out the Walnut creek, and it has walk on trash also including some pretty good size logs floating. Anyone running better take care and watch for debris or they may drop a lower unit. Only got to fish about 5 hours and only had 14 keepers. water was stain, but not bad, water temp in Walnut creek was 59/60 deg. wind was a real problem at times.
