You are absolutely right Tal, thank you for saving Ann's rescue beagle. And, again thanks to you, my labs are very healthy. That heartworm decease is absolutely terrible. Thanks for posting.
I almost lost one of my labs to heart worms some years age. The Vet almost had to kill the dog to get rid of the heart worms. The treatment was very hard on the dog but she made it finally. That was a good read Tal although it had to many 50 cent words in it. Has the treatment improved today against these resistant varieties to where a dog owner is fairly sure to keep his dog safe.

some cutting edge companies are in the process of doing the studies to deal with the resistance issue and in 3 to 5 years they should be able to come up with FDA approval of a prevention that will cover all of the resistant and non resistant species....so to answer the question, fairly sure we can keep them safe....yes .....with vigilance and timely and novel heart worm prevention......Quote:
