Chickamauga Lake Crappie "Bonanza" 4-05-2014 & 4-06-2014

We fished Sat. and Sunday! What a blast. I fished with Archie (Kentucky Fan) and jimp (Tennessee Fan) on Sat. and with Jerry and Archie Sunday.

Put the boat in both days at about 7:30am and fished until about 2:00pm.

On Sat. we kicked the crappie pretty good the first 1-1/2 hour. We caught a crappie on the average of 1 every 2 minutes. We ended the day with 103 caught with 35 keepers. About 1 out of three fish were keepers.

On Sunday we drop kicked the crappie real good. We ended the day with 84 caught with 45 slab keepers. About 1 out of 2 fish caught was a keeper! What a difference a day makes in fish size.

We single pole fished with a BGBS various colors with a chartreuse tail light. Using a 1/32 oz. jig with a #2 hook under a small float. The water temp. was 60*.

That's a nice mess.
You must have found a place out of the wind. It was brutal. Had to take out early to make T-ball practice. Caught 8 with 5 keepers 3 big ones and 1 TARP. Long lining with the wind, blue n pink grubs. Im ready for some warmer weather!

How are you fishing, Kingfish1 .... casting ?? trolling ?? How deep are your jigs under the float ?? And what water depth are you fishing ??

Don't worry ... I won't be in your neck of the woods, but I may be at Watts Bar in a couple of weeks, so I'm just looking to find out how the spawn is progressing in your area. Were those fish spawning, or are they still in the pre-spawn feeding mode ??

Wow you guys knocked them out for sure. Way to go.

It definitely was FUN on Saturday, even if I did catch a few stick fish and rock fish. LOL. Enjoyed it a lot and thanks for the trip.
