shallow / bank fishing wood
Curious if anyone has had luck setting up shallow water / bank fishing structure? If so, what tips / tricks would you suggest.
I've done some modest work so far. The lake I fish in Texas is about 11 feet low now which is an opportunity. Decided I would take some drift wood and old christmas trees people sunk years back and "re-engineer" them to be better cover for the fish. I took the christmas trees and drove them top first a few feet into the sand with a sledge hammer. Then I set large pieces of driftwood between the christmas trees pegging down the drift wood to make an impromptu "picket fence" This slough lacks timber below 9'. If Lake Lewisville only comes up 2 feet before the spawn what I setup will be the only available timber at that depth.
