I have a 195 Lowe stinger with a 55 lb 12 volt minn Kota maxxum on it right now. Wanting to step into a terrova. Boats wired for only 12 volt I believe. The 12 volt does fine but I'm thinking of starting to long line. If I stayed with the 12 volt an added a battery would that be enough for long lining or will it just not have the power ill need?
You definitely want iPilot for longlining. Once you use the autopilot, track recorder, and speed control features, you'll never want to be without them again. Terrova is a tough motor that will stand up to long hard fishing days for years. I would choose it over a PD. For a 19' boat, you're smart to get a 24v or 36v motor. A 12v motor might work, but you will need to run it at higher power settings. More power means more heat and that's what kills TMs.
If its wired for 12v then its wired for 24 or even 36, the only difference these day is where you connect and the jumpers between batteries. If you have room for the extra batt go with the 80 pound 24V, like stated above it will last longer. good luck, ps the Ilink is worth the extra bucks even if you don't have a Bird to hook it to.

I would go 24 volt if possible. It runs cooler and battery strength longer. If you are not planning on hooking to lakemaster maps or have a need for saving multiple tracks, I do not recommend the Ilink. The remote has to be charged and the remote is large and touch screen. As of right now the Lakemaster charts has very few HD lakes. I like what they have, but it's a work in progress. To summarize, the Ipilot is the best investment you will make for long lining. The Ilink is better if you like more technology, but if you longline and do not plan on saving over 6 tracks, do not spend extra $400 on Ilink. If you plan on using multiple features on the Ipilot, which you do long lining then you want a 24volt. Especially, if you plan on using the spot lock feature.
I have a 175 stinger..I upgraded the factory 12v motorguide to a 70 maxxum 24v system..As stated above the conversion is as simple as adding a battery and wiring it for 24v. no wiring to change on the boat itself..you will be glad you upgraded trust me.

24v Terrova with iPilot Link. I have one on a 19 foot Triton aluminum and it does the job.
I also have a stinger 175 I put the 24volt 80lb on it, pulls it around at 2.6-3 mph all day long for several days. You'll love it
