Are you usng the stock xducer that came with the 899...??
Has the water column been cloudy since day 1 or did this just start...??
Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing...??
Rickie
Thank you Rickie. It is a new unit. The first couple times I went out it was clear. It is the stock Xducer. Will work on a screen shot.
There are times (especially this time of year)...that algae blooms can totally obliterate the screen with cloudy looking stuff...
And sometimes it's worse in some parts of the lake but not in others...
Just a thought...
Still...post some screenshots for diagnosis...

I think Rickie is on the money, noticed last weekend it was getting bad here. Seems at night in the summer it is terrible here in oklahoma. Like he said post up some pics!! We love pics!
Thanks guys. I'm n south Alabama and pollen is bad!!!! I will try and post pics tomorrow.
If you'll take a look at the thread entitled "my opinion on the Onix" there are a number of images posted there that show what I think johndeere is referring to. Especially in some of the DI images. Some pics have it, some don't. Go to page 17 and see the Down Imaging pics posted by Kosmo and see if that is the same thing you are seeing on your 899.
Thank you Brown Trout. That's exactly what I have. Now how do I fix it? Is it pollen ?
If it's algae I don't think there is a fix. Your unit and settings are fine. The unit is just doing what it's supposed to do which is to display what it "sees" in the water. I've seen that on my home lake in years past and realized it was an algae bloom and would clear up once it's ran it's course. Not all sections of the lake have this bloom at the same time. Move to another section of the lake and see if it clears up.
