3/29 Vernon Lake

The kids wanted to head down to the spillway on vernon lake and splash around in the water.

Decided to bring along some jigs and a slip cork. Wind was kicking... but managed to pick up 5 real nice white perch (biggest was pushing 14 inches) rest mostly right around 12 inches. Also picked up a limit of small pan sized bass.

Not bad for a couple hours of fun.

No pics, will add em in tommorrow when i am cleaning em.

All males, but they were tight tight up on the bank, all fish caught were in less than 2 ft of water... and closer to the bank the fish would have had to bring there folding chairs and coolers.. :)

One of these days I am going to fish that lake! Seems like I never think about it until I pass it going to Toledo.

Finally got around to getting the pics loaded.... Banana for scale :) The biggest was just a tiny smidgen under 14 inches long... (honestly if i would have pinched the tail i could have said he was 14)

Not to bad for a couple hours bank fishing at the spillway... lotsa other people fishing to..

It's not a bad little lake shadow, and once i am catching em on my brushpiles again will be happy to show you around. But as far as scenery and pretty water goes toledo bend is so much nicer than vernon.

But it's within walking distance for me.. so... :)
