Hardware/Software 3" Magnums

This is a bait that I am still messing with but getting close. Need to find a good sealant for the eyes on the jig head. I don't like Sally hansens. The 3" twister tail turned out great! This is going to be an awesome bait combo.

Got to find something better to seal the eyes. May have to go to a coating of clear vinyl paint. But I would rather not go to vinyl because it will react to soft plastic baits if left exposed to each other for a long period of time. Got to be something.CF

I put a small puddle of super glue in a pop cap lined with aluminum foil...just enough foil to allow you to make a thumb-print impression deep enough the glue will puddle. Then I use the flat head end of a common pin to "just" tap the puddle of glue and put the spot of it in the eye relief of the head, then add the eye and press down with a pencil point. Getting just the right amount of super glue behind the eye takes a couple of practice placements but then the process moves along nicely.

Doing it this way means no top coat or cover needed

CTom, What brand of glue do You use? Thanks. CF

I just pick up cheap glue to use for this. The sticky adhesive behind the eyes isn't enough to hold them when they get wet. The super glue just gives the eye a little more bite and water won't/can't degrade the bond..

where did you get those jig heads at.

Snake, I made those. They are do-it ultra minnow heads. 1/8th. That is the smallest size. I wish someone would make a 1/16th.CF
