Wheeler Dam 3/22
Put in below Wheeler today, navigated through all the KVD wannabes slinging A-rigs in the current and set out to Blue Water creek first thing. Didn't see much action, I was pulling a jig near the bank and slinging a worm in the meanwhile. Caught one small largemouth and had a dandy one break off in a submerged branch near bank. Moved across river and fished the bluff below Big Nance and located some fish around a tree laying in 20 ft of water just off the bluff. Ended up catching four crappie two whites two blacks, biggest one 15" 2lbs. No complaints here!

Didn't mention I caught two channels and a drum, and I drifted a big curly tail grub below the only generator running and caught a 2lb white bass. No smallies, hybrids, or stripers.

It's obvious the big one is black crappie, and the white crappie is obvious, but the one in the middle might be a hybrid?Attachment 155591Attachment 155592

The only way to know or sure is count the spines on the dorsal fin. 5 to 6 spines is a white crappie. 7 to 8 is a black crappie. My bet would be a black crappie.
Thanks for the report.
