Taylorsville Lake Update

Well I nice old man at the ramp said it perfectly Saturday; nothing like the perfect day being left alone on the water with no one bugging you, including the fish. No one I talked to caught a thing. I was lucky enough to catch a few bass but nothing when it came to crappie. Hit my three hot spots that I go to every year and they were dead. Water temperature was 48 degrees and the water was pretty muddy like normal.

Headed to Weiss Lake Friday and returning Monday so that should fill the freezer hopefully. I will let you know how it goes. Once back headed to KY Lake and Blood River towards the beginning of April and plan on going back to Taylorsville to fill in the empty spots in my freezer.

Jigboy .... you gonna fish the Taylorsville Fruit Jar Tourney with us in June ??

Going to be windy Tom. But still going to try Taylorsville after I get off work. What's the water temp. been lately?

Just got back in town from Weiss. When I was at Taylorsville is was around 49 degrees at the highest. Weiss was a good trip. Caught limits about each day that we didn't get blown off the lake. Fish seem a little smaller this year as we actually had to measure the fish and thats not normal. I couple buddies went to Logan Martin Lake and caught limits every day and the fish were bigger with one going 2lb 8oz.

Check out http://www.markcollinsguideservice.com I have been fishing with Mark for 16 years. On his main page is me and my buddy Tim from Colorado. We were mainly in the main channels up the Little River catching schools of crappie staging in huge schools just waiting to pull up and spawn. Side imagining will be a huge help but most of our fish were in 20 foot of water sitting around 10 feet deep. We long line trolled line everyone does in Alabama. You won't be able to miss the fish because were they are will be a lot of boats. My suggestion is to go to Little River Marina at 6:30am and grab a breakfast sandwich. The guides are all in there eating also. Ask them were they suggest. They will tell you. They want you to catch fish because then you will come back and spend more money. Even better is take the time to hire Mark on of your first days so you can see where and how he is catching them. He will teach you a lot of stuff you never knew before. Of course getting an open date is next to impossible. I am already booked next year and within 6 months will be booked for 2016. Good luck.
