for Crappie if anyone has any I live a hour away from watts bar and 130 min away from tellico and loudon. I'd like to know if I'm wasting my time before I head out maybe later this week and next week to go. Thx in Advance.

don't look like any body is listening Curtis? was going to go to Douglas last sat but buddy called with Bristol tickets late Friday. when this rain stops I plan on hitting watts bar, haven't fished it for 20 years from a boat ,good to see you still kickin :)
hey Mike good to hear from ya man I'm gonna try either Caney Creek at Watts Bar or Clear Creek at Tellico or maybe even below Loudon Dam this weekend or next
I have a birthday party cook out planned for sat for my son or I would be some where ,been reading about Douglas getting turned on but rain is in the forecast.I am slated to work 6 days next week but how the call load is down so I can be of wed,if I end up off & weather looks 1/2 way decent I will yell at you & maybe we can hook up & go catch something lo
sounds good mike if u go let me know how u do
Haven't been to Watts Bar in the last couple of years, or I'd give you a report.
Not sure if no reports on here is indicative of "no catching" going on, or "excellent catching" going on & people are just keeping quiet about it. :scratchhead
I will tell you this:
... seems like the Crappie fishing has declined quite a bit since the ash spill in Dec 2008.
... reports from some good anglers that fished it last Fall, says they caught a lot of short fish
... Caney Creek used to be "my" main area to fish, but it seemed to decline after they started renovating the park & adding the RV park. I stopped fishing there & moved up the lake to the White Creek area. That should tell you how long ago I stopped going to Caney Creek !!
I'll also admit to the fact that I've never fished WB any earlier than April ... and that's mostly been mid to late April, at that.
I love fishing Watts Bar ... but, until the catch rate & size gets back to what I'm used to there, it's not an economically sound venture to drive 4hrs & stay 3days for no better fishing than what I can experience at my local lakes in KY.
I also check here : http://www.huntfishbuddy.com/twra_te...eports/region3 ... but the Watts Bar region report hasn't been updated since Feb 3rd  (but, check it Friday to see if any updates have been posted) :twocents
... cp :kewl
