Well,
With Chris's pics on the board from Cane Creek, I decided to go out on the home lake (mound lake) & try to catch some papermouth's. The water is real low (still), 1-2 feet deep, and cypress trees are almost too shallow for me to fish! I fished for 4 hours this afternoon, and got shut out on the crappie. I hooked a green carp, and a couple of dink bream, but that's all. It was a beautiful day to fish, though.
The lake has a couple of spots that are 4-1/2 ft deep, but the majority of the lake is 1-2 ft deep. (even in the middle of the lake) Most of the cypress trees on the outside edge of the channel of the lake are in 6-12 inches of water, so it's real hard to fish it right now. I guess I'll have to wait for the wet season and hopefully another foot of rain will raise the lake up some. I may need to go down to cane creek with you guys to fish!
