El Dorado 3-15-14

Went out with guide Shane Eustice of Hook 'Em Guide Service Saturday on El Dorado lake. Fished for about a half a day. We caught probably 50 to 60 crappie. The largest probably a 15" with 4 14" and 12 other keepers. Put the rest back. This is the 3rd time that I have used Shane as a guide on El Dorado. He is smart, fun, and just a nice guy to fish with. I couldn't give a better recommendation. I realize that hiring a guide is not everyone's cup of tea. But, if you want to get on fish and have a great time, Shane is the man to go with. I have no other association with him except as a fishing guide. See pictures below. I'm the guy with the beard. Shane is the clean-cut looking guy. We were single-pole jigging mostly along river channels.

Hey, bdunn3, it was nice meeting you at the boat ramp Saturday afternoon.
Yeah, you guys had a nice mess of fish.

It was a good morning of fishing, we did well also fishing the channel in about 20fow, brought home about 10 keepers but had to catch a bunch of fish to find them. Also had some big wipers mixed in with the crappie.

Tim, it was great meeting you too. I hate to admit it but, your biggist crappie was a little bigger than ours. :) I hope to see you and your family on the water again soon.

My biggest for saturday was 15.5in, I just posted it on the 2014 lake record crappie. I'm really looking for those 16+in crappie that are swimming around in there, I know there are some and heard of one being caught last week.

Congrats on the the 15.5". That's a slab! Sure makes it a pretty high goal to beat you. :)
