I am giving my Crappie Jon boat away-do you want it?
I drove to Ed's Marine Superstore in Ashland today and purchased a new Crappie Jon with a Honda 9.9 4 stroke so I have no need for my 17 year old Crappie Jon with it's 9.9 2 stroke Evinrude that is running just fine. As a matter of fact, I will be fishing out of it tomorrow.
I know that Ed's Marine has gotten some bad press in the past but I will tell you my experience was excellent. Everything about them was very professional.
I have already given away my wife's 2010 Hyundai Tuscon to a former dance student of hers from her old church that was in desperate need of a vehicle and I donated my 2004 Mercury Mountaineer to the Judeo Christian Outreach Center which does a lot of work with the homeless in Virginia Beach and now it's time to find a good home for my jon boat.
It is free to a good home with one condition. The new owner must make a donation to the Judeo Christian Outreach Center based on what they can afford and feel like donating. If it's only $20 as that's all you can afford, fine, $50, $200, whatever you decide. I just want your word as man that you will make a donation. I will give you all the information when you pick up the jon boat.
Who can apply? Any member of crappie.com that is in need of a boat. I really do not want to give it to someone who already has a boat or does not really need it as they can afford to buy a boat. If you are not a member of crappie.com and want it then I suggest you sign up and become a member and start providing fishing reports. (it is free you know?)
What you are getting: A 1996 Crappie Jon with a 1996 Evinrude 9.9 2 stroke motor that I recently had serviced and is running just fine. I will supply a 6 gallon fuel tank and two hoses, numerous worn spare tires, a Motorguide 12V trolling motor with 46lbs of thrust which I paid $415 for on 7-23-09 and a battery with case. The trailer is also from 1996 and is showing it's age but the rear lights are LED and fairly new.
What you will not get is any electronics or a front seat as I paid over $200 for my front seat and I will be relocating it to the new Crappie.jon and keeping it's front seat as a replacement for the rear seat when needed.
It will probably take me around 2 weeks to get my new jon boat ready (weather permitting) as I have ordered a new Terrova trolling motor and I have to transfer my electronics and add cleats and such so we have some time here.
So, if you're interested, send me a pm. (private message, click on my nic of TapOut64 and you will see it as an option) Tell me why you would like to have it. If I can't decide on who to give it to then I will have one of my daughters draw a name out of a hat.
Once again, if you are not a member of crappie.com and would like to have it, sign up, it's free.
