What does the number of "banks" in an on board charger mean?
How many batteries it can charge at one time
The number of banks is the number of batteries it can charge....will be a set of leads for each battery. Two bank= two batteries......three bank = three batteries
and say its a MK330--you have a total of 30 amps 10amps per bank--just fyi
Thanks for the replies. Gotta find a three bank for all my batteries, have Two bank now, any suggestions?
Just bought a 3 bank on sale at BPS for $139. It is 5 amp per bank. Like it so far. The biggest selling point for me VS. The minn kota was bps warranties their charger for 2 full years. Anything goes wrong. Take it back to them and they replace it. Minn kota warranty was after 30 days. I would have to send it back to minn kota. At least that is what the salesman said. Box says it is waterproof and shock proof. Just my 2 cents.
EBay had several reconditioned units for around 100 bucks. Three bank 10 amps/bank. 330d minn kota
MinnKota 330D.....three banks.....ten amps per bank....and its digital
I just purchased the new 2 bank minnkota precision from hodges marine for $156 shipped. With the $20 rebate it was only $136. The 3 banks are cheap too.
