Use a deposit slip and you will be fine. Never did good in the drive thru.

Rip rap is always a good place to start. Most lakes have some access to it.

I assume by your question is how do I catch fish from the bank. Different species requires different presentations. But for now let's talk Crappie Fishing. I like to tight line but when you are on the bank this is not a very good way because you keep getting shallow on your retrieve and unless you want to loose a lot of baits and tie on a lot this is not the better way. In general the man in the boat cast to the bank and the man on the bank throws as far as he can. The man in the boat catch more male crappie because he throws into the bank and the males moves in first and stays the longest and the man on the bank fishes further out and catch more female they stayed schooled out in deeper water and move in only to spawn,(this is during the spawning season the rest of the year they will be together) with this in mind. You need to use a floater (bobbers is for Yank's).Normally 9ft is a good bet to start with, cold,cold weather 10 to 12ft but for now thru the rest of spring I would start at 9 and move up as Crappie moves in, In April you may need to be only two ft deep. You can use one Crappie Fly or two, I like one, but you can use two 1/16 about a foot apart any further they will keep twisting together when you cast. Depending on the water color you can choose from a wide range of colors, on the lake that I live on when you get away from white ,blue, and chartruse you may wind up with a big Goose Egg. 6lb test line is a good all around line to cast with (get a quality line).
