Bout Time I Catch a Few
Went to Oconee Sat & Sun and caught a few but not until after the wind and water temps chased me all over the lake and I finally came to conclude I'd better longline...but not before burning up the whole day Saturday trying to get the bite spiderriging and looking for fish that would not be where I would venture off to. Quite a few anglers experienced the Oconee blues them blues that I know quite well. On Oconee sometimes you are the bug and sometimes you are the windshield. The fish are ready to drop the load and if nature keeps it up the spawn will be in the lake and not in most creeks. It's like the fish met an invisible wall in lick creek and would not venture beyond the gas pumps because the further to the back of the creek you went the colder the water got and the clock is winding down and if the temps in the lake get there first that is where I believe they will make a deposit

Quick, It sure isn't Cresent, 4 who! Those are nice fish. It seems like we have seen a great many fish over 2 pounds this year, or maybe everyone is just taking more pics. I agree this week the fish should go off. Call me if you find them :)

Glad you found some willing to bite. Seen the same thing at West Point and Eufaula. Think you are pretty accurate with that guesstimation of this spawn, which may be a good thing for the next several years fish. That would help spread them out more and the anglers can't remove as many as if they were all hemmed up in the backs of the creeks.

Quick, Nice catch and love the pic's. Hope these few days warm the shallow water up so the courtship can begin.
I really appreciate you boys and girls sharing info about conditions and how you are fishing etc. Good fishing to all of you and take those kids and grans fishing. I got a gang of grans that have already ask for a week fishing at the lake on the toon. Stay safe, lots of low fast movers out there.
