It works great! I purchased one for the same reason.
Great items.
Two pieces of advice. Either get the 'moisture barrier' type bags......or simply put a paper towel piece close to the top. Fish are 'wet' and hard to seal properly. You need some paper stuff between the fish and the seal area to absorb the moisture that this thing sucks towards the seal.
Second, and this is critical.........after the bag seals, move it down and add a 2nd (I do three) seal. If there is just one seal and any moisture is in that seal whatsoever, even a smidgen, when it freezes it will pop open and you have freezer burned fish in a hurry. I learned the hard way after catching a ton on Toledo Bend. Now I triple seal every single bag of everything.
Well, I used to do that.........back when I caught fish..........
I put the fillets in a towel in individual layers fold towel over and press to remove excess moisture. Bags seal fine in one go as long as you removed most of moisture.
Mine has a setting for moist, have never had those problems.
Not advertizing for anyone but Bounty towles will remove enough moisture to avoid the problem. Double layer of towles, a layer of filets, double layer of towles. The only thing I've had problems with is de-headed shrimp. They have little spines that will puncture the bag.
