Humminbird transducer mounting ?????'s with pics

Please critique my transducer mounting. I think I should swap both transducers around so I can watch my 2d while on plane. Currently, it dosen't work while on plane. Also, do they look about right with the bottom of the boat? Looking at the bottom of the boat I don't see any obstructions down the length of the boat other than 2 rows of rivets that Lund uses at the very rear of the transom. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

My $0.02 would be to move the XNT-9-20 2D transducer to the opposite side of the boat. This would allow you to mount it lower in the water and not block as much of the Si sonar to that side. This would also allow you to move the HDSi transducer upwards a little to help keep it out of harm’s way as well. Using that transducer mounting board is a very good idea as it may take several adjustments of the transducer to get good results.

Boy, I was hoping it wouldn't block the signal. Greg do I need to change settings on my 898 to use the 2d transducer this way or does the unit do it automatically? Wish the ice was off our lakes so I could do some experimenting.

It will block some of the upper right Si sonar signal where it is at now. If you drop it down for high-speed depth readings it will block even more. Getting it as far away from that HDSi transducer will lessen the amount of Si sonar that it will block, so moving it to the opposite side of the transom is your best bet for minimizing the blockage.

How do you have the transducer connected to the unit? If this is through the AS-Si-DB-Y cable than you don’t have to change a thing. The 2D sonar will always come from the DualBeam (2D) transducer.
