I'm heading to S C for a wedding on 3-28-14.while I'm in town my brother is going to lend me his boat.I can fish lake Marion or Moultry.I will be staying at Blacks fish camp.will someone point me towards some slabs,my brother only fishes for bigger fish.Icant wait ,been ice fishing in pa for last couple months

Well you hit it at a good time. I am not familar with that part of the lake but some others will probably check in with some advice.
Never crappie fished it but you can load coolers on the catfish while drifting the canal. Good luck with your trip and the fishing.:)
You will be in between two of the best big crappie lakes in the nation. Having a boat doesn't necessarily help in your pursuit of some of those slabs, unless it's set up to troll or tight line for crappie. I would consider traveling across lake Marion and fish Wyboo or Potato creeks. Even if his boats not set up properly, you could still drift fish minnows over spawning flats and catch a few pigs. Going into lake Moultrie, out in front on Angels landing can be a big fish mecca at times. It would be a lot closer boat ride, and can be great fishing if they are in there. Good Luck!
Thanks for the info,ya I wish I was taking my boat.I just don't want tow 700 miles for a day or two.
