Just got a 598ci hd si. I have read about trading the transducer in with humminbird. I want to mount the transducer on my Terrova up front.
The one that came in the box is a XNT 9 SI 180T and wondering if I should ask for the XTM 9 HDSI 180 T when I call them?

The XTM-9-Si-180-T is the Compact Side Imaging trolling motor mounted version of the standard transducer that is shipped with the 598 units.
The XTM-9-HDSi-180-T is the High Definition Side Imaging transducer for the trolling motor and is a larger transducer that will allow for more detail in the 455kHz Si/DI sonar of the 598 unit.

I called humminbird. Didn't do the exchange. Lady on the phone said $190. For the exchange then she said $180. Does that sound right?
According to online prices from humminbird there is a $40. Difference. I'm confused now.
Maybe I'll try calling again when I get home. Maybe the lady on the phone was confused too. She thought I had a 597 when I called.
You should call again as that does not sound right at all. Unless you were wanting some sort of express shipping it should be almost half that.
Got it straightened out today. The total cost shipped is gonna be $85. Thanks for all the help!
You might want to look through some of these threads before you go to any extra expense. Most guys don't like SI on the TM because any time you move the TM, the picture just gets wiped out. Some guys have built a separate transducer mounting rod to keep that from happening, and I think they just used the transom mount transducer instead of buying new.
Thanks for your thoughts. I feel comfortable putting it on the trolling motor. The extra expense is to upgrade to the high definition transducer. I have been doing a lot of research but am always open to hear others thoughts and ideas.
