I have a new HB 859 and am looking for a map chip. I understand my choices are the HB Lakemaster and the Navionics.
Any preferences for one or the other?
My last boat had a stand alone Garmin GPS, and the lake coverage was much better with Garmin.

Here is the webapp for Navionics...you can actually zoom into your lake and see the same chart detail that would be on the Navionics card ...

Apparently the 859 only works with the Lakemaster chip (which sucks for Arkansas), or the Navionics Gold, which are coastal charts. So it's Lakemaster or nothing for me.
I'm not sure where you got your info but the new 2014 model 800 series units work with the Navionics Gold, Navionics HotMaps Premium, and the Navionics + cards...Quote:
