Anybody fish Cave Run? Just wondering where some good ramps to put in are at?
This time of year some ramps are closed due to low water levels. Scott Creek which is near the dam is open. There is some good fishing to be had in the creek directly across the lake from the ramp. Clay Lick should also be open. It is in the mid-lake area. It is about a one mile run to the mouth of Beaver Creek and to the main river channel as it runs south. Beaver Creek has channel markers which should not be necessary this time of year. The main river channel is lined with trees that should be exposed if the lake is at winter pool. I hope this helps.
Gopreach
Currently the water levels are almost 5ft over Summer Pool (10.6' over Winter Pool) and falling. I always liked the Twin Knobs ramp, as it puts you at mid lake, but I've also used the Scott's Creek Marina ramp. I believe there is a fee to launch at Scott's Creek, but not at Twin Knobs.

Bangor
Bangor and Popping Rock will put you up the river, really good places to fish. Clay Lick is free and centrally located in the lake, turning left at Clay Lick will take you toward the river, Buck Creek, Beaver Creek, Leatherwood Creek with standing timber and the channels marked. Turning right handed will take you across Zilpo flats, Scott Creek, and Caney Creeks , and Big Cave Run creek, this is toward the Dam. I think the best fishing is up the river.
