I recently mounted a 596 hd di on my boat. everything seems to be working alright but when I get to probably 7 or 8 mph I start getting vertical lines on the chart. this happens both on 2d and di. I followed all the mounting instructions and think I have it in the best possible place on the transom. any input or advice would be great on how to fix this or just any tips on this unit and its use. Im very new to this unit so any pointers will help. Thanks!
Could it be air bubbles off your boat?
Yeah could be. is there anything i do to fix it if it is air bubbles?
Xducer placement is very finicky sometimes....
Some have opted to use a mounting board on their transom so that different positions can be tried without drilling more holes in the transom...
Can you post some pix of your transom and xducer ...both from the rear and the sides with the camera at xducer level...??
Maybe we can offer some suggestions...

ok thanks will do! Im working out of town but should be back this weekend and ill get some pictures.
I wonder if this could be an RF problem. I'm assuming you are running your outboard at this speed? If so, you would want the sonar connected to the trolling battery.
Still haven't made it back to get them transducer pictures. I never thought about it being a rf issue. ill try the trolling battery next time im out. its sleeting and snowing now so maybe next weekend.. thanks!
