Nimrod double limit ?
I heard that someone caught 40 nice Crappie at Nimrod. They were supposed to be fishing around the dam end of the lake. The story was they were fishing 20 to 30' water. I have caught a few in the river it self. I had a 15 '' 1.75 lb crappie today and a few smaller ones. I was out more to build more brushpiles in the channel. Most people I've talked to say it's slow. My fish are 10' to 13' deep on the drop ,right on bottom. I'm catching all we can eat but not slay'n them by no means.:D

Well I am a bettin man, and I am a bettin if your just catching enough for you to eat there aint nobody catching double limits anywere on the lake.
Might have been somone spreading that word to get you out of the deer woods and back on the water. Soon as they see your truck at the launching ramp there going to be in your stand.

I talked to a couple today at Carden Point that actually seen the double limit that we are talking about. They said the people told them that they caught them fishing in 20 to 30 foot water down towards the dam by the cypress trees.
I tried it a little while on brushpiles and in open water and could not get a bite. Loads of shad from the surface all the way down to about 16 feet deep.
Talked to a guy and his wife that came in with 10 nice fish and they said after trying down the lake towards the dam with no luck they fished along the river bank up in the river about 8 to 10 feet deep with red/chart. jigs.
I'll bet I'm not the only one thinking that they told a little story to throw the other fishermen off the trail!
Debra and I are going to try them again tomorrow but we are going up the river and may try some shallow areas. If we do any good we'll post it.
