When I joined this forum I became concerned after reading some less then positive posts concerning the Dragonfly. I had already purchased one based on some research and was second guessing myself.
I have had nothing but positive things to say about this unit to date. It is way better then anything I have had so far. The DI is spectacular and when I mark fish I know that I am indeed on fish. I usually like to use the split screen in color sonar and DI vertically image. The color sonar will indicate fish but the DI will show you if it is fish or brush or a mixture of both.
I was displeased that it didn't have the detailed maps of the interior lakes of SC and discussed the matter with Raymarine and Navionics, I pled my case and failed to get a free update but did purchase the Navionics Updates card which allowed me to get the detailed maps of lakes in SC and obtain free updates for a year for $99.00.
So far I have been very impressed, in the river where every other depth finder/fishfinder has shown nothing but fictitious fish and clutter, the Dragonfly can be dialed in to show real fish and cover. I think it is just a matter of getting used to the unit and experimenting with the sensitivity, noise reduction and other features.
I like it! :biggrin
