Blackshear 2-22-14
Longlined main river flats in 12-15 fow to catch 93 and keep 38. Caught a lot of really small fish in the mix. Had to fish 1/16 jig with a #4 split to keep jigs right off the bottom. Thank you Curtis for lightwire hooks, saved us a lot today. Main lake was 51 to 55.8 with a heavy stain. They were pulling water most all day. Went into swift creek and water was 60-61 but did not catch any. Overall a great day just to be on the water.Attachment 152007

Always good to know they save fishermen a few $$$. We are at Talquin couple days....I longlines Pony's in 6 feet of water yesterday and caught some goood ones. .......went to the flats later and caught more just not quite as big as in the shallow water........I get hung severl kzillion times a year.

Great to see a mess from Blackshear. Have not heard much from there. Thanks for the report. Got to love them Litewires.

I'm new to crappie fishing having fished for bream and bass most of my life. What is the longlining technique?
