Boat Question
I believe I lost the title for a party barge I own. I've been told that boats don't have titles. I'm pretty sure that's incorrect. I've never registered the party barge since I've owned it, I do however have a bill of sale.
Do I need to file for a lost title?
I'm considering selling it because I pay to store it at the lake but have probably used it twice in three years and that was right after I purchased the boat.

I don't know about big fancy boats with large motors, but my little 15 foot with a 25 horse has no title. The trailer has title but not the boat.

Call the revenue office. I just registered a new boat, all I got from the state was the registration. They gave me back the statement of origination and told me I should hang onto it.

No titles in Arkansas. Just the registration paper is all you need.

In Louisiana you register your boat with the Dept. of Wildlife & Fisheries to get your numbers that you put on your boat....

Arkansas does not have boat titles. Trailers do, though.

All you need is a bill of sale to register your boat in are Arkansas. If used boat, take the numbers off the side. That's all you need. Trailer as title.

No wonder I couldn't find the title... Thanks guys

You don't have a title, but you need a bill of sale to register the boat. They want to make sure sales taxes are paid.
