I hope no one had any damage in last nights storm, but I was sure glad to wake up and see that our reservoirs are on the rise and are going to get a good thaw before this next round of freezing temps. I'm ready to get the boat wet!

LOL Bret... I am hoping for the opposite. The rain although heavy, passed quickly. Surface water was skim frozen on my parking lot this morning. Big cool down next week again. If you are not yanking fish thru the ice...you are not living the good life! I did happen to catch the video of the crappie masters big 2013 tournament on Granada, and had to laugh when a couple walleye fishermen won it by pulling crank baits on planer boards. I predict a new tactic for the Indiana guys this yr.
HHD
I considered small plainer boards but can see me getting them tangled all up at Patoka,,,they would work great in open water and Monroe tho. I used to use them a lot on Lake Mich and Erie when I had my lake boat full of outriggers and downriggers. Still considering them. This danged weather for the next 7 days or so is going to be cold and colder freezing this water again..sucks! Will have the boat ready to rock today in the heated garage and will keep it there till I can find open water somewhere. Thinking about driving to check out Kings Bridge this weekend to see if I can launch there. Will keep ya posted.
been doing that for years
I knew yu were going to say that,,cause of your name,,danwalleye!!! :Rofl Gonna suck me in to use a couple of planer boards,,,HHD brings it on again. :cheers2
