Good Morning! I hope everyone is safe and warm. I Fished Falls Sunday 2/9 and thought I'd save my report until Today so we have something to read while organizing our jig boxes
I fished only a couple hours as I was committed to taking my little one to see the Lego Movie. Launched at upper Barton and made my way up lake. It took about 1 hour, but I found fish off of a cove mouth in 14' of water right on the bottom. Jig color was Red/black/Yellow. No big slabs but I was able to get 7 for dinner.
Now I kept those in the live well and cleaned them Monday and cooked them Mediterranean style.
1st thing I did was fry 5 oz of minced garlic in olive oil
After the Garlic was done I added 1 can of diced tomatoes, oregano, and basal. --> Add any spice you want. When I cook this again I will make it hotter
After letting the tomatoes simmer 10 minutes I them added Crappie Filets on top, covered and let that cook 15 minutes. --> Shake the pan do not stir to keep everything from sticking.

Finally, Serve over rice and add fresh parsley = Delicious!

It amazing how cabin fever brings out the chef in all hunters and fishermen. Looks awesome REDBOAT... and I'm sure it is good. It's been soups, chili and stews for our house this winter since I've been high and dry... but I'm hoping and praying that my boatless time is coming to an end by mid to late summer. Thanks for sharing.
