Dry run to lcb

the internet is a wonderful thing--it showed me the way to lake carl Blackwell and told me it would take about 45 minutes to get there....hmmmm the internet lied :) I left my house about noon today to make sure I could find my way to LCB (thought a daylight drive would be beneficial for when I want to find my way in the dark) I am so glad I did....I went the direct route from shawnee and it took me nearly 2 hours...I will not go that way in the morning...it will be so much faster to go to OKC hit 35 and take it to 51--thats a much faster way for me to get to crappie paradise :)

Couldn't just take 177 West?

I took 177 to 51...by the time I dealt with stop signs, the couple of towns, construction, and going through Stillwater it was way too slow..thats why I think I40 to I35 to 51 will be much faster...Im going to give it a try and see if I am right or wrong

I believe from I-35 and I-40 it would take 45 minutes in itself to get there. Heck just from my house off I-40 and Harrah Rd to I-35 takes a good 20 minutes. From Shawnee to I-35 is a good 35 minutes if not more. I believe two hours from Shawnee was alright timing.

I live just north of Okmulgee and it takes me 1.5 hours if I go to Tulsa first and then west on I-244. Takes me another 15-20 if I go up 33 to Cushing then north to 51. Think I'll go the Tulsa route. 15-20 minutes extra could mean the difference in getting your favorite spot or a fill in.

Any news on the fishing at Twin Lakes? My family is from Shawnee. I could possibly kill 2 birds with one stone if the bite is on:biggrin

I live in Newalla and I can be at Carl Blackwell in 1 hr 45 min taking 177 and about 1 hr and 35 min taking 40 to 35, however that's early in the morning when no one is on 177. Coming back in the afternoon when 177 has some traffic then its much faster to take 35.

45 mins. Shawnee to Stillwater? Maybe by helicopter? A little less today with this southerly breeze we have.
