Fished from 8 to 3 caught 2 chains and 1bass 0 crappie. Tried everything minnows, jigs, minnows with jigs only got 3 bites all day. There was still some ice on the back of coves WT 41°. I'm sure Corker had a better day.

Five hours of fishing yielded 2 fish--a tiny pike and this 14.5-incher.

I too spent five hours on the water, blackwater river, 0 fish, not even a bite.
Well things being that bad glad i didn't go
Gene - Based on a report from a friend who went to Buggs yesterday, you didn't miss a thing. He said the water was cold and muddy & they could never find a decent bite.
Don't feel bad about getting skunked with the weather we have been having. The fish are in shock and you have to drop it on there head to get a bite. When you get this many really good crappie fisherman skunked except the master [Corker] you NO its tuff. It will get better!!!!!!
Had a friend pull a few from the chick yesterday. And one ring perch. I did the same last weekend.
A 14 1/2"er is nothing to sneeze at. As Maxwell Smartest used to say"missed it by that much". I'm sure that next year it will be citation size as I know that you release the bigger ones. THUMBS UP.
