Scam Alert
I read about a new scam. You receive an out of state call on your cell phone and it only rings once. If you return the call its a conformation for some type of charge that will be billed to your phone. I know I've gotten two calls in the past week from some number in NJ and the phone rang only once. Just never return calls to numbers you don't recognize.

Thanks Scott. I don't open emails from any person or sight I don't recognize. Got 2 of those this week, with individual names. Just delete.

That is what I have a answering machine on my office phone for. If I dont know the name or # , I dont answer or call back.

Buddy called me the other day cause he got one of those calls. Researched the area code. It went back to Costa Rica then to Japan. Had scam alert info there. Said if you call these numbers back they have recorded messages for you to listen to. Charges 100.00 a min and phone companies won't do anything about it but bill you. Got 2 last week rang once and cut off.

Some of the claims about this are exagerated, but it always pays to be cautious about mysterious calls and emails. Here is a recent update from snopes about this. http://www.snopes.com/fraud/telephone/onering.asp
