Hammer Head Jig Heads
A friend just bought some of these. They have an eyelet on top of the head and an eyelet set back a little on the bottom. His thinking was to troll with them using 1/4 oz each and do away with the weight. The top one will be tied to the main line on top of the head and the leader to the bottom jig tied to the bottom eyelet of the top jig. I think he is going to miss fish on the top jig unless they hit it from the rear. They can't take it from the side or the front. You can look at them VMC Hooks under jigs. opinions?

You could put 2 rings with swivel and spoon on the bottom like a road runner.

We talked about that. I know some of the side pulling guides tie the top jig straight on the line, but can a fish take this jig except from the rear?

It would work but I would think that short shank hook would cause a lot of missed fish.

I have some rigs where one hook is a foot from the next. Depending on lake rules, I have 2 to 8 hooks a foot apart in a line with the sinker on the bottom. I haven't noticed any miss bites. Usually the fish bites and is on.
