I've been keeping my charger plugged up lately. figured with it being so cold it would drain the batteries faster and I ain't fishing much anyway. Is it better to do this or let them lose some charge and charge then every so often

I have a 3 bank on my boat and if it's not on the water it's plugged in.
If it's not a automatic designed to cut itself off and monitor charge like most all on boards, then I suggest disconnecting it and charge about once a month. If it is a onboard designed to stay plugged up by all means keep it plugged up. Just need to monitor water level about every 30 days.
Cold weather really slows down battery draining if it isn't connected to anything pulling current. At 80, you can lose 15% of your charge a month. At 30, it's almost negligible.Quote:
