Norman Heavy mud stain

I attempted to fish Norman for striper yesterday, I hadn't been on it in awhile, water temps range from 43 below the islands at long island to 50 opposite the hot hole, then back down to 47 near the condo's near marker 16..

The lake has a heavy mud stain from windmere island all the way to marker 16 although is has not rained in almost 2 weeks.
The striper bite never came around yesterday, and I hunted every known location from marker 16 back to long island, pete, nor the birds were any help either. leadcore and u rigs zero.

Bait was heavy in several locations, so much that my u rigs hooked them as I pulled thru it, birds by the hundreds sitting on their A$$es waiting!

The mud stain seems to be moving down the lake, from north to south, the back of the creeks have less than main channel and the creek mouths.

Hope this helps any of you guys thinking about fishing Norman this weekend.

Thanks for the report. I dont striper fish and have never been to Norman but am wanting to go for crappie/bass, so I'm keeping an eye on it. Appears the water level is about 2 ft high. This may be whats causing the muddy conditions. Would guess that when it gets down to normal level and settles for a while the bite will start back. But thats just my opinion. Pete can catch them anytime/anywhere, haha. Liked your last report on Norman Pete. Seems like the best area on the lake is up above the hwy 150 bridge.

I've never has much luck pulling around large schools of bait. The only exception is when they are actively being worked by different fish. If they are being worked, you can tell it pretty easily on your graph. If they just stay grouped up together.... I move on. Sometimes you can get you a small spoon and do some jigging below the large schools of bait. Don't get in a hurry because it takes patience. Be slow. Wait a good amount of time in between your up strokes. The shad are slow.... the bite will be too. Just some thoughts.

Ha. Ive been off the water since my last outing therefor i have lost the fish!! however i got good intel saying to try the last place i told you about but im sure it will be out of your range!
