Heading to Guntersville to visit family this spring and was trying to figure out which would be the better time. Of course their is a another motive behind this trip. I'm pulling the boat up there. I figure I could ask the experts which would be the better time, mid March or mid April. Around home in Southwest Mississippi seems like we catch the bigger fish in early spring. Any info would be appreciated.

Well I would say March, however I was killing the fish in all my holes by October of the past crappie season here. This year it is already mid January and only 1 spot is producing fish for me. So either something is wrong or they are 3 to 4 months behind. Not sure if that means more will come in real soon for spring or if they will be late
I would say March, actually even February might be better, if you are looking for size. This can always vary due to weather though.
March,You'll catch more big fish with the spawn.
I went down in April for a week last year and did real well. I went down for a 4 day trip in march and did well too. I like April better bc it is warmer.

The trap bite should be on at the end of march and april.
