He said I should replace the Blue in my Springtime "Go-to" (Chartreuse/Blue/Chartreuse), with Black or Silver. Hey LP, is this what you were talkin bout?

Well I use all of them, but I can show you more than a few guys that were big believers in Chart and black! but they proved it to themselves that the Blue and chart is better! Now Chart and Black is still a great color, but IMHO not at the top of the heap!
also once water clears enough you can see you jig down 3' or more, Silver/Silver/Blue or Silver/Blue/White take top spot! Silver/Blue/White is one combo that is very much looked over and it's a real killer! Have one customer that is all he will use every year!
I like the blue as my first choice also. Listen to Skip, I used some silver/flo blue roadrunners I got from him . The fish really liked it this weekend!
love the jigs man, black and char is my go to color year round always catches fish for me!
I will NEVER see my jig 3' down here. Much less a foot. EVER. Nor in Mississippi whose waters are similar that I venture onto on occasion. If I use blue, it's blue n white and usually under a cork when fish are stacked. It's the direct contrast IMHO. I don't like lite baits with small hooks. Maybe bc I don't troll. Dunno. Everyone has a way that works for them.
Those look awesome. I especially like the silver body. Have yet to find a chenille like so.
Not that your 1st jig wasn't stellar, you tie a mean jig, as does everyone here and on the other board, just diff colors click for diff people.
If you think about it, all we're doing is talking color. That's y this hobby is so easy.

Blue and White are awesome together and use it a lot. The thing that makes me jump on Blue so much is what I read about colors and visibility. To make this short and sweet Blue and Violet are the colors that can be seen. Red and such are the one that disappear first, I suppose just look grey or something once far enough away in water, even crystal clear water. In that crystal clear water the Blue can be see at 40'. However UV and Florescent colors change this as far and distance they can be seen.
i figure the first thing that helps in getting bit is visibility or just being seen.
Now ow take bass, a bass can see 5' to 7' in muddy water and 15' to 17' in stained water so I figure crappie can also see much farther than we can in the water.
