Toledo Bend article on front page brings back memories.
This Michigan weather really stinks. I was reading the Toledo Bend article and remembering when Tiff and I were young and I got out of the USAF 1966-1970. We were stationed at Barksdale in Bossier City, LA. After we got out we ended up in Keithville, LA (south of Shreveport) our neighbor was Eddie Ezernak (redneck cajun - GREAT GUY). The Army Corps had just completed Toledo Bend. He took me fishing and we anchored over the top of his Grandfather's barn, which had been submerged after they flooded the reservoir. As best I remember we went through Many, LA to get to where he wanted to fish. Rented boat, minimal equipment, and had one of the best times I can remember, the submerged tree tops in Toledo Bend were still green. His bait of choice was catalpa worms - out of the catalpa buds on a tree in his yard. We caught a boatload - no limits back then. That old redneck taught me a lot. I wonder if he's still around? Another one of our oldest friends still lives in Marthaville, LA. WOW might be time for a winter fishing trip down south? Toledo Bend????? I need yahoo maps.
