This has not got a thing to do with fishing, but since it is too cold for most of us to venture out on the water I am looking for entertainment. How would you like to be a fan in the stands at Lambeau Field this afternoon when the Packer play. First time I remember the NFL seriously consider postponing a game because of the cold.
Here is the latest word:
There is a wind-chill warning in effect for Green Bay's wild-card game Sunday. (National Weather Service/Weather.com) Temperatures are expected to plummet to minus-19 degrees Sunday night in Green Bay, Wis., hours after the 4:40 p.m. ET kickoff between the 49ers and Packers in an NFC wild-card matchup.
Sunday's high will be 3 degrees, but due to winds 15-30 mph winds, the wind chills could approach minus-45. :yikes
The Lambeau Field concession stands will do their part to keep fans warm, offering two free coffees and hot chocolates during the game.
"With the forecast predicting very cold temperatures this Sunday, we're happy to offer our fans a way to warm up while attending the game," Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has issued a wind-chill warning for the Green Bay area for Sunday at 6 p.m. to noon Tuesday.
"A Wind Chill Warning means that very cold air and winds will generate dangerous conditions," the NWS said in a statement Saturday. "This can result in frostbite and could lead to hypothermia or death if precautions are not taken. Do not venture outdoors without proper protective clothing. If you must go outside, wear multiple layers of loose fitting clothing. Be sure to wear a hat. Mittens provide more protection to the hands than gloves."
I am gonna watch just to see how bad it gets. Glad it is in front of a fire in my house and not in the stands.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
