Been looking around at the lakes mostly just ice bound. Tried Melvern dock today lots of very small white bass and some small crappie. One keeper crappie wind was blowing hard never had a lot of luck there with wind blowing.
If we could get another day like today would be able to fish Melvern in a boat. Pamona will be froze over until spring it looks like.
Still fishing in missouri with good success, might go to Toronto tomorrow morning and see if it is open or may just go over and try fort scott lake again. Not a drinker and dont stay up late so plan on being on the water early and bring the new year in right. Good luck everyone.
BD you might want to try Pomoma docks....lots of fish being caught but also alot of people on the docks...it has slowed down the last couple of days...my freezer is finally getting restocked.....ice spoons and small hair jigs seem to be the ticket.
Yeah heard Pamona dock hot went over yesterday nothing. Buddy tried today nothing slowed to stop. just my luck
That is always my luck. Hear of a hot bite and by the time I get there the fish have gone on vacation!
I spent about 6 hours at the heated dock at Marion County lake yesterday......I caught nothing. Out of about 10 people, I witnessed 3 fish being caught. All of those were caught by the same older lady (I think she fishes there daily). I just don't have the touch for it....she said that they are barely hitting the jig.
I may go out again today and give it a try.....want to give them some time to get the snow cleared from the roads first.
Hopefully it will stay cold long enough to get good ice this year. If we do I see a road trip up to Glen Elder for the day. I fished in Michigan last week and brought some of my ice fishing stuff back to Kansas. Hopefully this will be the year with good ice.

Went to Pomona this a.m., pretty slow, only managed 1 crappie. That's ok, was more of a trial run for my new Marcum Showdown Troller 2.0, worked pretty good, the 1 fish I caught, watched him move right up to my jig and BOOM, fish on! Seen 4 guys out on the ice with a power auger punching holes, couldn't tell how they were doing. Talked to a guy that said there were probably 80 people fishing the docks last weekend, guessing the crappie have gotten a little thinned out.
