Crappie New Year
I wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy (Crappie) New Year. I reflect back on the ones on here that I have been privileged to meet and some I even had the pleasure to fish with and I realize what a treasure this site has been for me. I have to tell you about my first outing with one of the members here. I had been following GABowman's post and seeing how successful he was pulling jigs at the Hill, so I asked if I could come join him for a day's fishing. He was gracious in inviting me and we set a time and place to meet. I have to tell you that my wife and one of my son's had reservations about me "driving 80 miles in predawn hours to a dark parking lot to meet a guy I had never met except on the internet." They told me "you would never want your children or grandchildren to do that!"
Well, I had a real hard time thinking a guy that posted his trips and included his daughter in a lot of them would be anything other than just what he appeared to be. And I was right. Butch and I had a good day on the water and since then I have been blessed to fish with Sinkermaker, StumpHunter, GCromer and Inkdabber. I have also met several others through buying or selling something on the ad forum. I also met several more of you at the Fall Crappiefest in 2012.
I look forward to our spring outing and in the meantime wish all the best for each of you in the coming year.

Ray is was a pleasure fishing with you. I have met and fished with many of the members here and am always impressed with our members we have.
I look forward to sharing the fishing stories, some time at our Crappiefest and even some time on the lakes with some here over the coming year.
You members are like my second family and I hope each one has a safe and happy New Year.

Searay is the only one here other than Rango that I've had the pleasure to fish with. If I was able to get away more often, I'd like to visit others on the different lake and swap some lies about fishing... I know that we all have some great tales that we could tell about some of the things we have all done on the water. Us ole guys have a lot of stories to tell and I bet some have changed somewhat over the ages too. I bet the fish got bigger and the count got larger also... Here's wishing each of you great fishing this coming year and I hope that we don't loose any of our great group this year.
Tight lines...
