Wanting to take a day trip to Wylie in the next couple of weeks, where should I go to launch?
I use the ramps at BosterBloyd bridge (S.C SIDE) they are open 24/7 and are nice. I also use the ramps across the lake at copper head landing in Mcdowell park(N.C SIDE). They are nice but do not open as early as I would like and close too early. The park is nice if you have kids with you because they have bathrooms and places to park your boat and have a picnic. Both ramps are about the half way point on the lake. Good fishing around the park.
Buster Boyd is convienient as it is in the middle of the lake and on Hwy 49. Most of the time I use Allison Creek since I fish that area most of the time when I go to Wylie.
I seen the Buster Boyd ramps but wasn't sure if they were open 24/7. May put in there. Anybody heard how the bite has been there?
bite was "fair" before all the rain.
Anybody know what the water conditions are at Wylie now? Thinking about going Sat. morning.
Yeah I believe I'm going to head down in the morn and see if anything bites.
Thursday afternoon,,,out in front of south point landing, was muddy and trash float'n everywhere and water looked to be 2-3 ft up in back yards. I'm assuming the south fork is dumpin in some mud too. I was at a customers house across from south point and not in boat .
Hmmm in that case, I may put the trip off til the conditions are better.
