Need a little help
For years I drive to Cambridge every year to a broken bridge near hunting creek, very productive and quiet little spot where I could catch crappie, blue gill and lots of YP. Last year I found a 'No Trespassing' sign on both sides of the bridge so I asked the local PD if it was ok to go fishing on it but no one could deliver an answer, does anyone else know of this spot? I was thinking to hit the creek before this bridge but anyone who knows the bridge will agree there are some very good advantages about it, so My question is for those who relate to the spot, is there another bridge similar to it down the creek?
Thanks.

Not sure where your talking about can you give a road name or some other land marks.

Sure and thank You for picking this one up Tear-em-up, the road is backlanding rd it is an old beat up bridge that was great for perch and crappie fishing, My buddy caught a stripper from this creek once. The creek is a tributary to the Choptank river, unfortunately it is 2 1/2 hours ago and I can't drive that far to start looking for a spot to drop a jig and the local PD was not helpful when I asked about the bridge. Really I just an itch and need someone who may know the area to offer a fishing spot, I don't want to bring the boat this far either this time of the year so shore fishing for Me until March.
I didn't go today since I was not sure about being able to find a suitable spot so I made 60 pounds of pork sausage I just put in the freezer.
Thanks again.

Is it after you cross the bridge or before . Your not talking about down in the blackwater area are you ?

It's a small creek between Caroline county and Dorchester county, about 20 years ago the bridge deteriorated to the point vehicles could not make it through, neither county could decide who's bridge it was so it stayed like this until now, there is a fence on each side of the bridge now and a sign saying 'NO Trespassing' which I'm sure is for safety bc the bridge is missing many joists and although it wont crumble You need to be sure footed to cross it.
Thanks.

I would contact the county road supervisor for each county. Probably to keep anyone from driving on it. And they probably had to do that to cover themselves from liability if someone gets hurt.

Got it now near Preston you had me off some when you said Cambridge . There used to be a spillway and pond up at the head of that creek too many yrs ago rite up at rt16 near preston ford.I would just fish it but be carful if you get on the bridge there only gonna tell you to leave not arrest you.If you get thrown out go to federalsburg and fish or hit the many little bridges in south Dorchester blackwater transquacking chicimicomico rivers look on a map you 'll see em all. Back closer to bridge theres tuckahoe cr. and pond side.

Mainly I don't want to drive 2 1/2 hours to get a ticket, which is why I went to the PD and asked early this year when I first saw the new sign but got no answers. I like cray's idea I will give them a call.
Tear-em-up thank You for the ideas I will go on google maps and check the area You said.

Well I did speak with someone in the know and it is a no go, kids where making to much of a mess and no 'fishing' from the bridge so it is closed for good. I will still go out tomorrow, I have an itch and I need to scratch it so wish Me the best I hope I can catch something worth taking a picture of and post it here.
Tear-em-up I'm still looking at the map, You're right there are many bridges but I'm not sure where is a good place to stop yet, You did open My eyes to more opportunities, thanks.
