Hi all. Are there restaurant or seafood markets in either New Orleans or on the Northshore that will purchase small quantities of fresh fish such as specks or redfish or even crawfish? I am not a commercial fisherman, but wondered if there would be a demand for smaller quantities. Thanks
Without a commercial fishing license, I don't believe you can sell any seafood to any market legally.
Good point. Hypothetically if I had a commercial fishing license, would markets and restaurants be interested in small quantities of fish?

With a Peddlers license you can sell crawfish on the side of the road in many locations. My Brother would go to the cost and buy off the Shrimp boats and bring them back to Winfield to sell. That also requires an aproved scale and a lot of your time
Selling Fish commercially requires many licenses. My family fishes commercially for red snapper, amberjack , white trout, grouper, etc. licenses for redfish and specks are no longer issued and there are only a handful of people that trout fish commercially(and that is rod and reel only). If you did buy a commercial license you could sell white trout and black drum to a dealer.
