Melvern 12/16

Started the day trying Pomona, no luck ice covered. So headed to Melvern. Hit the water around 0900. Checked one pile on South side of lake, nothing showing. Went to a river channel spot that has some nice brush, scoped some fish on brush just on drop off from 20 down to 35, started catching fish first drop caught about 30 before they slowed down most were 6/8 inches 3 keeps. Decided to move to another spot on the channel so went huntin, scoped some fish on channel break holding in around brush. We stayed there for the rest of the day, catching shorts alot and keeper sometimes. We caught a lot of fish managed to clean 13 biggest around 12. All fish caught in 25 feet of water on the bottom around brush right on the channel break into 35 feet of water. Most fish caught on red/char, wht/char 2inch tube jigs. Tried dropping jigs down into brush using power pro braid, could not get a bite switched back to Yozuri 4lb and started catching again. Attachment 145131

ya think eagle's nest is doable yet? Just wondering what its like up around the river on the north side?

have not been up to eagles nest. Should be clear almost all the lake is open. We tried to fish today but way to windy, did manage some white bass
