Crappie with eggs

I was talking to a co-worker about 2 weeks ago. He had been duck hunting somewhere on the Ark river. He said they also did pretty good crappie fishing while he was there. He said some of the crappie had eggs. I have read, I think, on this site that crappie can spawn twice. I was wondering if any of y'all's fish lately had eggs. As cold as it has been this year will the fish be able to have a 2nd successfully spawn? Just curious.

I saw some that had undeveloped eggs a few weeks ago. Gzrglide caught some that had eggs a few weeks ago. I believe the water temps will be too cold for a second successful spawn.

These eggs are gonna be this springs spawn. Most female crappie will have eggs as early as October for the following spawn. And yes 95% of the crappie I have cleaned in the last month has had eggs in them.

This is correct. Crappie start developing there eggs in the fall for the following spring. The ones you see this time of year without eggs and with small whites sacks are males.

What they said but never seen but one spawn in a year here. Sometimes the spring spawn can be spread out in unstable weather many times.

Been seeing eggs for the last 6 weeks but crappie only spawn once a year.

Been seeing eggs for the last few weeks also. The spawn is just once a year as some have said for crappie. There is other fish that do spawn multiple times like common Carp.But there are times when a female crappie sometimes will not lay all her eggs if water condition are not favorable and her body will dissolve them. D10 isn't that right?
