reciprocal licenses for NW River
Did you ever wonder why NW River does not have a reciprocal license agreement with NC? I asked DGIF and here is there reply.
Your request was forwarded on to me as coordinate the regulation review process. Our reciprocal licenses are for border reservoirs or rivers that flow in and out of states along the borders (such as the New River). Occasionally we will work out an agreement to have the agreed demarcation line at a bridge and not the border for boating access and easier angler identification. Northwest River does not fit any of these criteria, and as such I doubt that an agreement could be established. I will however copy our regional aquatic manager for his use/information when we next meet with North Carolina Wildlife/Marine Resources.
