Do those have any weight to them?
No, they don't have weight. The minnow can move them better without the weight when spider rigging slow. I've also used them like a regular hook with a spit shot up above and a bobber.
those look like large sabiki rig flies. a sabiki rig has 6-8 of those flies tied in-line with a snap at the end for a weight. the entire rig is about 5-6ft long. we use em to catch skipjacks for catfish bait down in tennessee, alabama and kentucky. I'm sure those would work well for slabs, fished drop-shot style or spider rigged.
We've been using them spider rigging in Mississippi for several years now. They make a big difference over straight minnows most of the time.
